Return fraud seen rising 34.3% this holiday season
Return fraud is expected to cost retailers $3.68 billion this holiday season, up 34.3% from last year, according to a National Retail Federation survey. Consumers trying to return stolen merchandise is the most common type of return fraud, affecting 93.5% of retailers last year, with employee return fraud also coming in at a high 88.8% of retailers.
