Analysis: Much of regulatory burden is local, not federal
President Barack Obama has promised to deal with regulations that unnecessarily obstruct economic growth and job creation, but he's going to need help to reach that objective, according to The Economist. "It's an admirable goal, but the sad truth is that much of the regulatory burden faced by firms and workers is local," the magazine noted. "And it's growing." The Economist/Free Exchange blog (2/7)
