IRS aims for faster service for small businesses, self-employed

The Internal Revenue Service has announced measures to help small businesses and self-employed workers settle tax issues more quickly. The IRS will let taxpayers use the Fast Track Settlement process at several IRS offices, with more locations to be added soon. The agency also extended a mediation and arbitration procedure test for Offer in Compromise and Trust Fund Recovery Penalty cases. Accounting Today (12/30)
