Trust in federal government drops, finds poll

The shadow cast by distrust of the federal government hasn't hurt the public's perception of their local institutions, according to a Gallup poll. Sixty-eight percent of respondents -- near the 10-year average -- said they trust their local governments, and the majority also trust state governments.
