FHA Offers Alternative to Subprime Loans

What is in store for first-time home buyers and people with less than perfect credit seeking subprime home loans? For a number of these consumers a subprime loan may have been there only chance at becoming a home owner, but there is now an alternative.

In light of the recent downward spiral the subprime mortage industry has taken, the Federal Housing Administration has stepped up by expanding and offering their insured mortgages to credit-impaired and first-time home buyers. Rising Trend for Single Women in Real Estate

Don't count out single women when it comes to buying real estate. Home purchases made by single women are on the rise. 12 years ago, nearly 70 percent of home purchases were made by couples but that has now declined by 10 percent.

According to the National Association of Realtors home purchases made by single women rose from 14 percent in 1995 to 22 percent last year.
